Abstract
Chronic pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dispaurenia and infertility, are frequent symptoms in the reasons of gynecological consultation of some women of reproductive age. Endometriosis or the presence of endometrial glands outside the uterine cavity, is a benign estrogen-dependent pathology, associated with this symptomatology. Therefore, making a probable or definitive diagnosis correctly becomes essential when assessing women with any of these manifestations, in order to determine their etiology or exclude it as a possible cause. Its medical management, despite being only symptomatic and non-curative, is associated with clinically positive results. Surgical management may have recurrences, however it is considered curative.
