Abstract

Dengue disease is caused by an RNA virus that has four different serotypes (DENV1-4), belonging to the Flavivirus genus, of the Flaviviridae family, the virus is transmitted to humans by the Aedes mosquito, with an annual global incidence of approximately 50 million, is a disease that occurs in mostly tropical and subtropical areas, but due to environmental and population changes, its reach has been expanding globally. Likewise, thanks to the implementation of programs for the management of the vector and in terms of new laboratory tests that provide a rapid diagnosis, it is possible to provide adequate management, in addition that the lethality of the disease has been decreasing.
